Photographed moments after Mathieu Blanchard crossed the finish line of the 2022 UTMB in Chamonix, this image captures the complete physical and emotional exhaustion that follows one of the world’s toughest ultramarathons. With the crowds still celebrating around him, he lies alone on the finish line—spent, silent and unable to take another step.

This photograph was awarded the People’s Choice – Sports Photography Award at the British Photography Awards 2023, celebrating a moment that resonated far beyond the world of trail running.

Each print is produced in my Dorset studio using a Canon PIXMA PRO professional printer on your choice of Canon Premium Matte paper or Canon Pro Platinum Gloss paper. Every print is individually signed, carefully inspected and packaged to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.
